What if you just booked a session and are not sure how to prepare? I'll send you a session guide to help you get ready and I'm happy to answer all of your questions. Here are a few general guidelines.
If you are having a session with you and your family with your dog, wear neutral colors like those that occur naturally outdoors. Avoid whites, because I may ask you to sit down on the ground ,and you will absolutely get dirty. If your dog must wear a harness, a black or brown one will look much better in photos than bright colors. The same for a session with your horse; a plain bridle will look much better than an orange halter.
Bring your dog's favorite treats and let your photographer know what your dog loves to do. Does she love chasing a ball or does he just want more treats?
If your dog needs grooming, get that done about a week before your session. If you do the grooming appointment the day of the session, your dog will already be tired and probably stressed.
For best photos of your horse, you should make sure they are show ready. The horse should be clean and make sure any tack that will be included in the photos is clean as well.
